BUNKER HILL (AKA) by Ripley and Company [Second] (Pittsburgh-PA, Company Operated: 1875-1891), 1875 Introduced
introduced in October 1875. A lot of the souvenirs of the Centennial came out in 1875. It is well described in the following quote from the Crockery & Glass Journal issue of Oct. 28, 1875 - "Messrs. Ripley & Co., Pittsburgh, have got up a new glass bread plate, oval in form with raised edge. In the centre is a picture of the Bunker Hill monument, with the words "Birthplace of Liberty." On the edges are the works Prescott, 1776, Stark, Warren, 1776, Putnam." The handles are composed of a piece representing the American shield.-- Sid Lethbridge 2018
