NOTE: Paul Kirk Jr: "These were made by Elson/West Virginia Glass Company, mid-late 1880s into the mid-1890s. There was a silk cord that was looped into the handle, and tied to the end. They were hung in the home, often the bedroom/ boudoir. Montgomery Ward sold them in the early 1890s. They also were made in blue. Often paper flowers were used rather than real ones. They are not shown in the manufacturer's c. 1894 catalog, so we're likely out of production by then. They did, however still offer the matching rose bowls, called Queen."
