WESTMORELAND SPECIALTY CO. No. 240 (OMN) line by Westmoreland Specialty Company (Grapeville-PA, Co. Operated: 1889-1924), 1906 Introduced
• AKA: Paddle Wheel
NOTE: Paul Kirk Jr: Westmoreland made two patterns that use the same whirling star motif: No. 240 and No. 575....The common thread is the "paddle wheel" motif. The difference lies in the design between that motif. The shield does not define the pattern, it is only on some items to fill the available space.
NOTE: Paul Kirk Jr: My research indicates No. 240 dates to 1906. I base this on its first appearance in Butler Brothers. No. 575 is later, c. 1912."
