NEW MARTINSVILLE GLASS MANUFACTURING CO. No. 556 ROYAL (OMN) by New Martinsville Glass Manuf. Co. (New Martinsville-WV, Co. Operated: 1900-1944), c1916 Introduced
NOTE: Kathy Conn Turner 2019: The Imperial #404 13" vase and the New Martinsville #556 Royal 12" vase are very similar with no appreciable difference in height and the only pattern difference being that Imperial's feature motif is a hobstar, while New Martinsville's is a spinning or whirling star. The Imperial vase was introduced in 1909 and I don't have a firm date for the introduction of the New Martinsville vase. The first photo shows the two vases side by side...The NM 1917 price list indicates that there were two sizes of berry bowls, two handled nappies, and the vase in the #556 Royal pattern.
