SALMON or SARDINE COVERED DISH (AKA) by Ball & Crowl (Wellsburg, WV, Company Operated: 1896- ), c1897 Introduced
NOTE: Sid Lethbridge 2021: Two sets: "Salmon" or "Sardine". The covered dishes at one time were speculated to have been made by Flaccus but the appearance of a matching bone dish points the set to being a Ball & Crowl (Wellsburg WV c 1896-?) product. Ball & Crowl were reported as making opal sardine and salmon dishes and bone dishes as well as banquet globes & other goods in 1897.
NOTE:Sid Lethbridge 2021: "Ball & Crowl advertised as glass manufacturers and decorators but many of the trade reports focus on the decorating. Perhaps they had their own moulds that they hired a glass maker to work for them or maybe they had a small furnace in their factory."
