STORK EATING ETCHING (AKA) by Unknown Glass Company for Etchings No. 1 (Unknown Location, Operated: Unknown), c1880s Introduced
NOTE: Sid Lethbridge - the Stork Eating Etching (Unitts) is one of at least five related etchings showing storks in various poses. This etching shows a stork standing upright eating a fish. The scene is framed with large ferns to the left and right. For the purposes of my research the firm that did this etching has been designated as U1 i.e. Unknown 1. They were very prolific and there are about 30 etchings that can be assigned to them. Ref. Etched Pattern Glass, Acid Etched Goblets and Tableware of the 1880s, p 126
