NEW MARTINSVILLE GLASS MANUFACTURING CO. NO. 900 MURANESE (OMN) by New Martinsville Glass Manuf. Co. (New Martinsville-WV, Co. Operated: 1900-1944), 1902 Introduced
NOTE: James Measell 2021: "Muranese is blown ware, made as cased glass, and the pink or salmon hues are due to gold in the batch. The vivid mirror-like iridescence is likely created by silver in the batch, but special warming in techniques, such as a glory hole with a reducing flame, are likely needed to create the desired effect".
NOTE: Theresa Jackson 2021: The Muranese have a different quality to them. They typically blend to more than one color. They are light in weight and the depth of the sheen are unique to these pieces. There are numerous blown and crimped bowls but these are unique.
