REPRODUCTIONS OF PATTERNS ORIGINAL TO: BOSTON & SANDWICH (AKA) by Boston and Sandwich Glass Company (Sandwich-MA, Company Operated: 1825-1887), Various Dates of Introduction
NOTE: 2022: various makers of higher quality reproduction pieces, many by the Sandwich Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Text associated with the "S" toy plate: This is one of two patterns in this size that the Sandwich Glass Museum reproduced. In the 1970s, master die cutter Alvin White was commissioned to make molds for many Sandwich reproduction pieces. Each piece had to have a notable difference from the original. The S was added to this pattern to assist collectors in identifying the repros. This repro was made from the 1970s - around 2010. We had them made by Pairpoint Glass in Sagamore, MA."
