NOTE: various group members 2021: found by this name in various sources: Sanford’s Victorian Novelties calls it Negro Boy, unknown maker, c 1900; Heacock also refers to it as Negro Boy. Found in Newbound's Collectors Encyclopedia of Milk Glass p141 as MINSTREL BOY, 2-7/8H. Newbound says this may have been made as an inkwell as well as a match holder as it is found in two versions, with and without a "scratcher" underneath the figure's chin.
