INVERTED THUMBPRINT AND STAR METZ (AKA) stem by Unknown Maker (Unknown Location, Operated: Unknown), mid 1880s Introduced
• AKA: Inverted Thumbprint and Star (Metz 1, page 116)
NOTE: One of two different goblets that were given the same AKA by Millard and Metz. This one appears in Metz 1 on page 116.
A revised edition of the Metz books was edited by a committee who added a comment that this goblet was made by Bellaire Goblet. It appears that this speculation was based on the Inverted Thumbprint with Stars wine shown by Revi (American Pressed Glass and Figure Bottles, page 68) which has been discussed above. However, it must be noted that the stem in the Revi catalogue reprint is different than the stem for this goblet throwing that speculative assignment into limbo.
To date, no clues have arisen as to the maker of this goblet.
