• MAKER: Portland Glass Company/Portland-Maine ( Company Operated: 1863-1873), Introduced: c1867-1873 Introduced
• NOTE: "PGCo Patent" on the base.
NOTE: Sid Lethbridge: Because of signed forms, we are able to assign this specific version of the Tree of Life pattern to Portland. Not every example of Portland's version is signed, although many are. There were other versions made by competing firms. Some of Portland’s moulds were acquired by Hobbs and reworked or made in colours, which were not made at Portland. NOTE: Sid Lethbridge: The Portland version of Tree of Life which is found signed "P G Co. Patent" has a very specific design that distinguishes it from the other makers. The Portland version is pressed with very distinctly woody vines having a bark like texture. In the space between the vines, there is a pattern made up of angular "frost crystals".
