NATIONAL GLASS CO. No. .315 (OMN) nat/royal
• AKA: National Prism
National Glass Company (Royal Works) (Marietta-OH, Co. Operated: 1899-1903), Introduced: c1899-1900 Introduced
• 8" orange bowl ID'd by Dr James Measell: "The Royal firm in Marietta, Ohio, was independent in 1898-99, and it became part of the National Glass Co. from mid-1899 until November 1903. The Royal was destroyed by fire on Thanksgiving Day in 1903. One of the Royal's managers was Thomas Charleton; he had also worked at Fostoria, so I suspect he was behind the Royal's efforts with No. 315 to compete with Fostoria's Edgewood." 2020: Dr. Measell:"the topmost edge [of the vase] can be finished in various ways, from crimps to jack-in-the-pulpit or tulip shape."
