• NOTE: Sid Lethbridge 2021: An illustration of this Straw Jar (OMN) with a plain ball finial is found in a Hobbs Glass Co. catalogue (c1890) and transitional U.S. Glass Co./Factory “H” (Hobbs) Catalog (c1892). In the latter catalogue, both Company names were represented on pages from that catalog. U.S. Glass acquired the Hobbs Glass Company in 1891 and thereafter called it Factory “H”.
SL Note: The Straw Jar was introduced earlier by the Hobbs, Brockunier Glass Co. with a figural finial of an owl. This version appeared in a c1887 wholesale catalogue.
